BMW X5: The Engine Options

BMW X5 is also a midsize SUV manufactured by BMW.X5’s first generation with code E53 was showcased in 1999.This was the first SUV that featured 4WD drive. It was obtainable with manual and automatic transmission.

X5 of second generation was launched in the year 2006 known as E70 that features xDrive system on automatic transmission. In 2009, X5 M model was released. The branding of X5 was done as a SAV instead of SUV in order to exhibit its ability on road regardless of its size.

X5 is manufactured in places like Greer, Mexico, South Carolina, etc. A lot of assembly operations took place in Russia. Beginning with X5, the BMW has been expanding to a number of other BMW series, first in the year 2003 where BMW X3 luxury crossover was launched, then in the year 2008, BMW X6 the midsize crossover came up sharing the platform with X5.
