Apple announces CarPlay interface

Apple introduced on Monday (3) CarPlay. It is an integrated automotive interface to the iPhone, which will allow drivers to control various functions of the smartphone via a touch screen and / or voice controls.

Initially, the system can be used by owners of the iPhone 5, 5C and 5S appliances. Users will be able to make and receive calls, read and send text messages and voice, access the Apple Maps (navigation), control the music player and videos, among other actions.

According to Apple, the following marks will announce during the Geneva show the compatibility of their vehicles with CarPlay: Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari and Volvo. Future are expected adhesions BMW, Ford, General Motors, Jaguar Land Rover, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota, with the possibility of extending the list.
