Astra OPC Extreme is the fastest ever manufactured by Opel

Opel, the European subsidiary of General Motors, announced a race car made for the roads and it promises to be the fastest Astra ever produced by the brand. This is the Astra OPC Extreme, with 280 horsepower.

Equipped with 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, the model gained improvements over the Astra OPC Cup, used in N?rburgring endurance championship. Changes include components from carbon fiber to reduce weight, sports seats, six-point harness and inspired interior in the world of racing.

According to Opel, the model ran 10,000 kilometers in testing at the Nordschleife. Its release date is for the Geneva Motor Show in March.
