Audi Introduces New TT
The Audi broke the suspense and finally revealed on Monday (3) the new generation TT sports, a day before its official unveiling at the Geneva show. As expected, the new model keeps an evolutionary design compared to the previous generation.
Nevertheless, there are changes such as repositioning of the Audi badge, going to the edge of the hood, new hexagonal front grille, new LED headlamps (optional) trapezoidal, enrobustecidos fenders, rear spoiler that is triggered automatically from the 121 km / h, among others.
The new TT uses the MQB platform of the Volkswagen group, reaching a final weight of 1230 kg, 50 kg lighter than its predecessor. Interestingly, although the length was reduced by 2 centimeters (4.18 meters in total), the space wheelbase has been lengthened by 3.7 inches, while the trunk was enlarged in 13 liters, reaching 305 liters.
Regarding the powertrain options, the blocks 2.0 TFSI, delivering 230 horsepower and 37.7 Nm of torque, and 2.0 TDI are available, offering 184 hp and 38.7 lb.-ft. with manual gearbox or six-speed S Tronic transmission .
Also available is the performance version of TTS, with the 2.0 TFSI engine reconfigured to deliver 310 hp and 38.7 Nm. In this case, the sports accelerates 0-100 km / h in 4.7 seconds (with S Tronic rates only) and reaches a maximum speed of 250 km / h (electronically limited).
Internally, the new TT is equipped with steering wheel flattened base, information display of 12.3 inches, new airbags which occupy 40% less space than the previous TT, audio system with 12 speakers, among other innovations.
