Betting on the success of the Porsche Macan to grow
The Porsche CEO Matthias M?ller, said the company should exceed the volume of 200 000 units sold in 2015. The goal would be achieved three years ahead of schedule thanks to high demand for the compact SUV Macan.
"We are transferring genes from Porsche for a new thread, but it will not be because of this that Porsche will cease to be a manufacturer of high-end luxury cars," said M?ller.
The executive assured that the brand is poised to produce more than 50,000 units of Macan initially projected. Its official launch will only happen on the 5th of April in Germany, the starting price of 57,930 euros in the S version with 340 hp.
Designed to address the more expensive versions of the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLK and Range Rover Evoque, an SUV should become the best selling model of Porsche. Eyeing the success of its new model, the brand has launched new versions of designs Macan, including a GTS option. "The GTS versions have already become tradition at Porsche. We have not decided (if we produce it or not), but I'm sure that would make sense of the world (fabricate it), "he said.
Last year, Porsche had a 15% increase in sales, reaching 162,145 units sold, thanks to good sales of Boxster and Cayman, which saw its sales more than bend forward to 2012.
