China reports 21.9 million cars sold in 2013

China broke the overall record of number of vehicles sold in a single year in 2013. According to data from the China Association of Automotive Automakers (CAAM), 21,984,100 units were sold during the 12 months of last year.

This amount represents an increase of 12% compared to the figures recorded in 2012. The segment with the most significant growth was the sedans: 47%, totaling 7.3 million vehicles.

According to news published by the CBS website, the best-selling model in China in 2013 was the Ford Focus, 403 thousand units. Regarding brands, the first place went to Volkswagen, totaling 2.4 million cars.
