Daimler and Nissan-Renault Group are partnering to manufacture in Mexico
Nissan and Daimler groups announced plans for a joint venture in Mexico with equal stakes to produce models of the Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz.
According to Reuters, a memorandum of understanding had been signed between them last month to manufacture GLA Class Mercedes and a new Infiniti, the Nissan factory in the city of Aguascalientes, in central part of Mexico.
It is not known when production will begin, but it will not be the first time that car sharing platform. The partnership between Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler has since 2010, when the companies signed an agreement to share engines, factories and platforms. Since then, the product of the partnership have included the foundation for the next generation of Smart and Renault Twingo, plus share engines from some other models.
