Fiat 500L does recall the U.S.

Fiat is recalling 18,092 units of the Fiat 500L in the United States. The recalled units are 2014 models equipped with automatic transmission. According to the company, the drivers may be unable to get the car out of "Park" position, according to documents submitted to regulators of U.S. security.

The brand claimed that certain temperatures can affect the functionality of Exchange, preventing the driver change the "Park" position, keeping the vehicle immobile, or delaying its operation, which may result in unexpected or accidental movement, increasing the risk of accidents .

Until February 20, both Fiat as Chrysler had no knowledge of any accident caused by the problem. Affected vehicles will have the module replaced or Exchange management software updated for free and the service should start to be realized in the automaker's dealers from April.
