Honda Fit makes third recall in Japan and Vezel

Honda is facing major problems with its new dual-clutch automatic transmission, known in Japan as DCT. The brand announced on Monday, February 10th, the third consecutive recall due to a problem in the transmission.

The call of time reaches 81,353 units of the Fit Hybrid models and Vezel Hybrid manufactured between July 2013 and February 2014. According to the company, a technical flaw in the software responsible for controlling the transmission can cause the vehicle takes to move or even out of place. The two previous recalls - each for a different reason - were held in October and December 2013.

In a statement, Honda said it "deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to its consumers, the fact that this problem has not been identified during the development of the component." The automaker has ensured that it has developed a new electronic control program that will end the problems in the transmission and said it will suspend delivery of defective units that have been billed to perform the software update.
