Honda starts production of the new Fit in Mexico

Honda began production of the new generation Fit in its newly opened plant in Celaya, Mexico, on Thursday (27). The automaker has organized an event to celebrate the moment, attended by executives as the very Takanobu Ito, President and CEO of Honda Motor Co.

The total cost of the plant was $ 800 million and its construction began in 2012. The site will house 3,200 employees and, when fully completed, in late 2014, will have capacity to produce 200,000 vehicles annually. It is intended only subcompacts like the new Fit and utility Vezel, models will also be produced in Brazil .
