Import Hyundai Veloster for Brazil is paralyzed

The CAOA Group, responsible for import and sale of various Hyundai vehicles in the Brazilian market, announced on Thursday (13) temporarily suspended importation of the country Veloster The information was revealed by Antonio Maciel, president of the group, for a event held in Anapolis (Goias).

According to the executive, the reason for the stoppage of sales is the large variation in sales of the model, whose 1.6-liter engine of 128 hp is the target of frequent criticism by the public. Before the arrival of more powerful rivals such as the new Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus, the CAOA opted to better assess the market landscape.

Thus, there is the possibility that the Veloster back to being imported to Brazil until the end of 2014, including more powerful versions such as GDI (direct injection, 140 hp) and Turbo (204 hp).

Another model that is not imported is the Sonata sedan. In this case, according to CAOA, the reason is the cannibalization that occurs in the range of Hyundai with the Elantra and Azera up below. Here, the chances of resumption of trade are scarce.
