McLaren 650 S formalizes

McLaren officially unveiled the first images and information of 650 S, a model that will debut to the public at the next Geneva Motor Show in March. Basically a modified MP4-12C, the sport also bears some similarities with respect to P1, especially in front.

The "650" name is derived from the sport of power offered by the 3.8 V8 engine (650 hp), while the "S" is the reduction of "Sport". Performance data have not been provided by the manufacturer.

On the other hand, McLaren highlights the aerodynamic efficiency of the 650 S. It keeps the drag coefficient of the MP4-12C, but due to changes in the body, has 24% greater downforce at speed of 150 miles per hour (241 km / h ).

The forged aluminum wheels are coated with Pirelli P Zero Corsa unique. Inside, features the multimedia system IRIS (with browser and Bluetooth), DAB digital radio (or, in North America, SIRIUS) and voice controls. As optional sports seats, carbon fiber steering wheel with electric adjustment and reverse camera are available.

The arrival of McLaren 650 S the European market is expected in the second quarter, the coupe and roadster variants. Prices will be revealed later.
