New VW Beetle

New VW Beetle

New Volkswagen Beetle inherited the best from its predecessor. Volkswagen decided not to change Beetle’s outside appearance dramatically, though several changes in the design include longer hood, more vertical wind-screen, which combined with 0,47 inch lower clearance and 3,3 inch wider bodywork makes new VW Beetle look sportier. Now a customer can choose between two body types: a coupe and a convertible. The manufacturer improved engines and added several special systems aimed at driver’s comfort on the way. Furthermore, three new colors were added to the Beetle palette: Tornado Red, Pure White and Reflex Silver Metallic. Customers now may pick one of three gasoline engines: 1,2L (105 hp), 1,4L (150 hp), 2L (220hp), or one of two 2L diesel ones (110 hp or 150 hp). Modernized engines are said to consume approximately 0,1 gl per 60 miles less fuel then previous ones. After these improvements fuel consumption in the city has been reduced to 25 mpg and 34 mpg on the highway. All the engine options are available with both automatic and manual transmission. A front-wheel drive VW Beetle, built on the Mk VI Golf platform, has a lot of grip and maintains good handling while cornering.

Volkswagen compensated few changes in the exterior design with a couple of modern technologies such as proximity sensors that help you control blind spots. Moreover, they simplify the process of parking and make back running safer. New multimedia system includes a 6,33’’ touchscreen, which aside from its entertainment functions lets the driver use a modernized navigation system, and a Volkswagen Car-Net App-Connect designed to perform a new level of intertwinement between your smartphone and a car. Both Android and Apple users may listen to music and watch videos from their devices while driving. More than that, Android users can make calls and answer their incoming calls as well.

New Beetle’s interior has been revised to suit the target customer group – young men and women. Doors, the steering wheel and the dashboard now have colored inserts. Control panel was restyled and now speedometer, tachometer and fuel level indicator are digital. On the contrary, oil temperature indicator, stop-watch and turbine pressure indicator, placed in the center of the dashboard are analogue. In spite of the fact that VW Beetle is a two door car, any driver and his passengers will have enough space and feel comfortable, even the two on the back seats.
