Next-generation Audi R8 is spotted in testing
The Audi R8 was finally caught in 2016 during the first day of testing at the Nurburgring for the 2014 season.
The next generation R8 will share a platform with the recently launched Lamborghini Huracan. This should help engineers reduce between 45 and 90 kg, the weight of the supercar.
Rumors suggest that the new engine of the R8 will be a version of the V8 biturbo present in the RS6, RS7 and S8 models, while other reports indicate that the 4.2 V8 will continue with the model 2016, also with the possibility of a new six-cylinder block.
The V10 naturally aspirated engine would occupy space luxury option. Both engines will be chosen by Audi coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a gearbox double-clutch seven-speed (DSG).
