NHTSA warns: 30,000 Tesla Model S can catch fire

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA), which is responsible for matters relating to traffic safety in the United States, revealed that Tesla convene a recall of 29,222 units of the Model S.

The automaker has detected that all these cars are at risk of fire. The reason is a failure in universal connector NEMA 14-50, which display adapter may overheat.

To proceed with the recall, however, not necessary that the affected Model S owners take their vehicles to dealerships Tesla. Just download a software update, which detects any fluctuations in energy flow and automatically promotes its reduction, if necessary.

It is noteworthy that, so far, no actual case of fire caused by this problem was brought to the Tesla or the NHTSA.
