Nissan launches mirror LCD screen
Nissan displays during the Geneva Motor Show a new type of internal rearview mirror, replacing the traditional lens with an LCD screen.
Mounted on the frame reserved for traditional glass, the display operates in conjunction with a high resolution camera installed at the rear of the vehicle. Thus, it is possible to identify the presence of any obstacle on the back, including the blind spots. The driver can choose between using the traditional glass or LCD screen via a button.
To prevent distorted images could, the brand created a device with narrow angle and 1.3 million pixels. The monitor has a 4:1 ratio. The novelty will be launched in Zeod RC electric prototype that will participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, and then equip the Nismo race cars to get to production models, what will happen after 2015.
