Profits from Mercedes-Benz soar 45%

Daimler AG announced on Friday, February 7, an increase of 45% over the company's profits in the last quarter of 2013, and expects that demand for CLA and new S-Class models grow further.

Without excluding the amount deducted for taxes, the company had an operating profit of 2.53 billion euros, compared with 1.74 billion euros recorded in 2012. Whereas earnings, growth reaches 7.6% to 32.1 billion euros.

With these figures, Daimler forecasts a "significant" increase in operating profits in 2014, up from 7.92 billion euros obtained in 2013.O optimism rests on the brand launches of suv GLA and the new Class C. Both arrive Europe in the first half of this year.

"We expect significant growth in our division of drive for 2014 cars," said Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche.
