Volkswagen beats GM and becomes the No. 2 overall
Volkswagen reported its consolidated figures of 2013. And, according to data disclosed, the German company has become the number two in sales in the global market, overtaking General Motors.
Were 9.73 million vehicles sold by VW, while GM reported 9.71 million units sold. The good performance is credited to the massive sales in China, besides the good performance of the group premium brands like Audi and Porsche.
It is worth noting that Volkswagen has outlined a goal to reach the first place worldwide by 2018, overtaking Toyota leader. In 2013, the Japanese automaker sold 9.98 million vehicles around the world.
