During the Paris motor-show in 2010 the new Volkswagen Passat B7 debuted and all the auto enthusiasts have found the new arrival rather appealing. However, the next generation of Volkswagen Passat with the B8 index will open a new chapter in this VW’s history.

The new Volkswagen Passat B8 was brought to light in the beginning of the July, 2014. The World premiere of this model for the wide audience and general public is going to be this autumn on the motor show in Paris. Moreover, the versions of this auto in Chinese, European and American market are going to have less differences between each other, thus standardizing the model range throughout the world market.

The base of the new Volkswagen Passat B8 was taken as modal platform MQB, so the weight of the auto decreased by 85 kilograms. Also the wheelbase of Volkswagen Passat 2015 grew from 2710 mm to 2791 mm. The leg space for back seat passengers's also increase and became wider. The total length of the auto was reduced by 2 mm - 4767 mm and the width of the auto increased by 12 mm to 1 832 mm. The volume of the trunk in the new VW B8 is now 586 L (21 L increase from its predecessor) and the size of the estate's compartment is now 650 L (47 L increase) and it also increases to 1780 with the folded back seats.

The exterior appearance of Volkswagen Passat 2015 hasn't changed much, especially when we look at it laterally. The decoration of the exterior made in a very conservative style, as we can now find in most of the German automakers.

The Volkswagen Passat B8 2015 got the new radiator grill, new bumpers and lighting elements that were implemented by using LED-technology lights. Head optics are now integrated into the same block with the grill. The R-line package now offers a more aggressive front bumper, new radiator grill and door sills give an appearance of a truly executive class car, that is aimed at a younger audience that wants to separate itself from an average consumer.

The interior has not changed drastically with one of the main changes happening to the steering wheel and a light audit of a dashboard. The clock on the central console was moved slightly higher. For an extra charge there will be an option to add a completely integrated electronic console pannel with a 12.3 inches screen and lots of modern security and alarm systems.

The new Volkswagen Passat B8 2015 will have a wide range of power-trains. It is including 10 petrol and diesel turbo engines that a customer will be able to chose from ranging in power from 120 to 280 hp. There will also be a totally new 2.0-liter four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine, that will produce massive 240 horsepowers of forces. The maximum speed of this car, with this diesel power-train, will be 240 km/h and its acceleration to 60 MPH will be in 6.1 seconds. The city consumption cycle will be about 5.1 liters per 100 km. The transmission will be the same as before, and the customers will have to choose from manual or DSG robot transmission with a double clutch system. Customers will have an option of ordering an all wheel drive version with a 4Motion technology.

In addition to already mentioned versions there will be a totally new rechargeable hybrid version - 1.4 TSI Plug-in Hybrid. This version will have a 1.4 liter gas engine with a TSI turbo motor, that will produce 211 horsepowers in total. In this version a hybrid VW Passat will be able to cover 50 km solely on the electric motor alone.

The date for pre-orders of Volkswagen Passat B8 2015 is going to be in a week after the presentation in Paris will take place. Price of the sedan will start at 25875 euros and price of Volkswagen Passat B8 Variant will start from 25950 euros.
