Ferrari F40: Best Driving Experience
Ferrari F40 is a rear-wheel drive, mid-engine, 2-door sportscoup? introduced in the year 1987. The car was designed specifically for the company’s 40th anniversary, and it was the last automobile rolled out by Ferrari. At that moment, it was the most powerful, fastest, and expensive car released by Ferrari.
The car was designed by Pininfarina and built from composites. Its turbo-charged running gear and sophisticated top-performance combined with 1st class chassis offers great dynamic competence that is very much close to that of a race car.
It was greeted with great enthusiasm by enthusiasts and the number of models eventually built exceeded the company’s wildest dreams. Ferrari released the car with a suggested price of USD 400,000 in the year 1987; however, many buyers reported that they paid almost US$1.6 million to purchase this particular sports car. The automaker manufactured almost 1,315 units.
Power for F40 came from a 2.9-liter GTO's twin turbo-charged V8 engine that could develop 478 PS. There are several claims that this particular car has got more power than what was actually officially declared by the company.
Weighing almost 500 pounds less when compared with its arch rival, Porsche 959, the F40 is capable of moving towards any horizon at pretty light speed.
