Fiat 500: Why Would You Need One
Fiat 500 was manufactured in the year 1957 by the Italian manufacturer and was later discontinued in the year 1975. The company launched the new Nuova 500 in the year 1957, which was a cost-effective, and practical town car. The new Nuova measures only 2.97 meters long and it is powered by a 2-cylinder 479 cc air cooled engine. The new Nuova redefined the concept of “small car” and it is considered as the first city car.
In the year 2007, on the company’s 50th anniversary, Fiat launched the all new 500. Almost after 3 decades, the automaker launched the larger and heavier 500, featuring front wheel drive, and a front-mounted engine.
Fiat previewed the new 500 in the year 2007 and the overall vehicle design of this particular model is completely based on the 2004 Trepiuno concept. The all-new 2007 Fiat 500 featured a very distinct look, which was quite similar to that of the VW New Beetle, and BMW MINI.
The new 500 shares the underpinnings with 2009 Ford Ka, and the production of 2007 Fiat 500 took place in the Tychy Fiat Facility, Toluca and Poland, and it was scheduled for 2007. The official commercial debut was made in 2007-September.
