Ford Bronco: A Great Car Under $1000?

Ford bronco is an SUV that was produced in the year 1966 and discontinued in the year 1996, with 5 distinct generations. Broncos are divided into 2 categories: early Broncos and full-size Broncos. The vehicle was released in the year 1966 as a competitor to the other models in the 4-wheel drive compact SUV category across the range.

It received major redesign in the year 1978 and it moved to a larger size. Bronco and its successor edition were produced at Michigan truck plant in Wayne.

The initial model was powered by a 2.8L engine modified with solid valve lifters. Overall vehicle styling was subordinated to simplicity and also economy. The early models were offered in wagon styling and popular roadster configurations. Roadster was dropped early and the model with sports package became the model line. The 1978 and 70 models were featured with full time 4- wheel drive.

In mid-1996, the company decided to discontinue Bronco officially. On June 12th, they built the last Bronco. Later on, it was replaced by Ford Expedition with 4-passenger doors to compete with GM’s Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, Yukon, and Yukon XL models.

It still remains one of the iconic boxy SUVs created by Ford to date.
