Ford F-150: Type Of Headlights You Want To Have

The Ford Motor Company has enjoyed a top position in the market for more than six decades with its range of full-size pickup trucks belonging to the F-series with F-150 being the most popular part of the series. Ford has launched a number of generations of this series, gaining respect through every update launched by the company across different markets.

The F-150 witnessed the best sales for 17 years in the US and the Canadian markets along with being the best sales as a pickup vehicle for 37 years. After the Second World War, these vehicles have been distributed in the Canadian market through either of the two dealers, the Ford dealer or the Lincoln-Mercury-Metero dealer. The Lincoln-Mercury-Meteor dealer was selling a mercury badged version of the F-150 variant of the series during the 1946-68 time period, which were made similar to the Ford equivalents with the exception of badging, trim and grilles.

Upgrades to the F-Series

With a modified body style, F-250 & F-350 were added as the Super Duty vehicles to the series in 1998. Other major updates are as listed below.

2009: The variant of the F-150 vehicle was launched in the year 2009 as an update to the Ford’s platform of the full-size truck. Some major upgrades included the head lamps of the Super Duty style accompanied with a 2-door model as a replacement for the 4-door model. The manual gearbox and the FlareSide bed have been dropped, while the F-150 Platinum mark replaced the Licoln Mark LT outside Mexico.

2010: In 2010, a pickup vehicle dedicated for off-road driving, the SVTRaptor, was added to the range of the series.

2011: This year saw a major update to the engine of this series with an aim to improve the fuel economy of the vehicle. A 3.5-Litre twin-turbocharged powerful & 3.7-Litre base V6 engines, called as EcoBoost, along with two V8 engines were added with an automatic gearbox.
