Generations of Honda City
Honda City is subcompact manufactured by Honda, a Japanese Manufacturer from 1981. Just after its second generation in 1994, Honda City was retired from the market. Originally, the car was made for Japanese, Australian and European markets.
Honda City’s nameplate was revised in the year 1996 for using sedans in order to develop markets. Initially to be sold outside Japan and later in Australia as well as Latin America.
Honda City was also sold with a different name in Japan that is Honda Fit Aria from the year 2002-2008. It is again a subcompact car sharing platforms with Fit, the Airwave, and the Mobilio. These share same location of fuel tank below front seats instead of rear seats.
The 2015 prediction
In the year, 2009 the sales rate exceeded 1.2 million in approx 45 countries all over the world after the revived nameplate in 1996.Honda city was also sold in South Africa as ‘Honda Ballade’. Honda cars in India have announced its Diesel car will be in market by the year 2015 just after the commencement of Honda Jazz. The CEO himself revealed in a media interview. In 2015, Honda City is anticipated to have two engines (i-VTEC, 1.5L and i-DTEC, 1.5L).
