Honda Insight: A Hybrid With Awesome Character
Honda Insight is a hybrid electric vehicle introduced in the year 1999. It was Honda’s first vehicle manufactured with Integrated Motor Assist system. The 1st-generation Insight was produced in the year 1999 and discontinued in the year 2006 as a 3-door hatchback.
The company introduced the 2nd-generation Insight in Japan in the year 2009. Insight went on sales in US on 24th March 2009. For US customers, the new Insight was released as a 5-door hatchback and sold at US$ 19,800. It is the least expensive hybrid car available in US
By the end of 2010, the company introduced a less expensive model and released it as 2011 model with a starting price of USD 18,200. Insight was also launched in UK for the year 2009 and it is the most affordable hybrid vehicle in the UK market. The vehicle price starts from ?15,490, which is quite less compared with the other hybrids across the range. It is also one of the best-selling hybrids.
Honda Insight is also billed as one of the cheapest gasoline-electric car in the market. It was also ranked as the top selling vehicle in Japan for the year 2009. This was the first time that a hybrid car moved to the first spot. For the second generation, the company managed to sell total of 143,015 units across the globe.
