A mid-size vehicle of four-door Sedan; Kia Optima’s original manufacturers are Kia Motors who have marketed the vehicle globally since 2000 under various banner.
Kia Optima’s first generation cars had mostly been marketed under the banner of Optima, but for European and Canadian markets the name Kia Magnetis was used during the sales in 2002. The second generation vehicle popularized Kia K5 and Kia Lotze under the market of South Korea. Though the name Magnetis became globally popular, some countries like Malaysia and United States still retained Optima. The name Optima has now been flourished in all markets, only the exception being China where the automobile company plans to use the market name of South Korea.
Optima Declared 3rd by Car and Drivers:
In a comparison test conducted by Car and Driver on March 2012, Optima secured the third place out of 6 cars. The first and second were secured by Volkswagen Passat and Honda Accord respectively.
Kia Optima’s third generation has now been granted official entry during Perilli World Challenge. The 2012 season of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park which took place in Canada saw Michael Galati win the first victory by driving the Optima’s audio sponsored Infinity whereas the teammate Mark Wilkins secured the second place.
