The Land Rover Discovery is an ultimate special utility vehicle that is a medium sized SUV and is focused for off-road purposes. It is manufactured by the famous British car maker Land Rover. The Land Rover was initially introduced in the year 1989 and up till now there have been a total of four generations of Land Rover.

The latest version that is discovery 4 is being marketed and sold across North America by the name of LR4.

Production History

- In March 2012 a major milestone was achieved when one millionth Land Rover rolled out of Solihull production line.

- During 1950 expedition one Land Rover and two similar vehicles were driven from Solihull to China. During that time a preproduction Discovery 1 called as G459 WAC was converted into amphibious vehicle also joined the bandwagon of celebrations during the expedition visit to Lake Geneva.

- The final expedition was finished when the millionth Discovery appeared at the Beijing Motor Show.

Finally the LR-D returned to British Motor Industry Heritage Trust in their permanent exhibition centre at Gaydon that is in Warwickshire, England.
