Mahindra Scorpio: Is It The Super SUV?

The Mahindra Scorpio is a sport utility vehicle produced by Mahindra & Mahindra Limited. Scorpio is the flagship model from the Indian Mahindra Group. The vehicle is specifically built for the global market, and it is successfully selling across the globe. Scorpio will be launched in the United States shortly as well.

The First generation Mahindra Scorpio was launched in the year 2002. After the success of Mahindra Scorpio, the company launched the updated version of Scorpio with rear center armrest, plush seats, and numerous minor changes.

The Mahindra Scorpio was designed by the manufacturing team from Mahindra. The car has got 3 prestigious awards- The car of the year, “Best SUV of the year” and “Best car of the year”, from BBC world wheels.

In the year 2006, Mahindra has launched an updated version of Scorpio, dubbing it as the 'All-New' Scorpio. At the Delhi Auto Expo held in the year 2006, the company also showcased the future plans of Scorpio by unveiling the Hybrid model and the Scorpio based on the Pickup truck.

The Scorpio hybrid version is the first such hybrid vehicle developed in India and was developed by Arun Jaura. In the year 2007, Company launched the pickup version in India, which was named the Scorpio Getaway. Recently, the company also launched a face-lifted version of the model.

In the year 2007, Mahindra also launched the teaser version of the new Scorpio model on their official website, which managed to garner a lot of publicity, and they repeated the same during launch of XUV 500 last year.
