The company introduced the first Opel Calibra in 1990. Later it was replaced by Opel Marta B. It was the only coupe in the Opel series until 1994.
The car is characterized by attractive design, excellent aerodynamic characteristics and comfortable lounge. The car was represented at the motor show in Frankfurt in 1989.
The model features a small drag coefficient Cx of 0.26, a powerful engine, narrow headlights and exclusive design. The car has been created on the basis of Opel Vectra’s materials. Its dimensions correspond to the size of Calibra Opel Vectra A. It has two doors. Speaking about the instrument panel, it is practical and functional.
The car is available in several versions, including either a four- or front-wheel drive system. It is equipped with C20NE (2.0i) having the capacity of 115 h.p.
In 1990 the company introduced the version with a new 2.0-liter C20XE (2.0i 16V) motor with capacity of 150 h.p. In 1992 the turbocharged C20LET (2,0 i 16V Turbo) engine version of the car was offered.
Next year the car was equipped with a five-speed gearbox and 3 airbags to provide safety to the driver and other passengers.
