Subaru Outback: The Best Family Car
An automobile manufacturer based in Japan, FHI (Fuji Heavy Industries) has been using Outback as an automotive nameplate since 1994. Till now, this name has been used with two different vehicles manufactured under the Subaru brand name. The two models using the outback name include the model derived from the Subaru Impreza’s hatchback version and the other one based on the Subaru Legacy, which belongs to a mid size category. The name ‘outback’ highlights the moderate level of the capabilities of a vehicle to travel on the road.
The outback model based on the Legacy from Subaru, the Outback Sport was launched in 1994 in the North American market. The other version based on the Impreza’s hatchback was launched in North American market in 2000 for the first time, while its second generation was launched in the year 2007, which was discontinued in the year 2011. The Impreza based model boasted of a raised suspension and an appearance package of an off-road vehicle.
