Toyota iQ was first presented before public as a city car in 2008 march Geneva Auto Show and its sales started in October 2008 with Japanese and later in January 2009 the sales were made with Europeans. This model was presented as concept iQ vehicle branded with the scion iQ which was released in the beginning of October 2011 in United States along with Canada and the west coast states in 2012. In March 2013, deliveries of all electric versions began with a range of 80km in US. And the production of this Scion iQ EV is going to be restricted up to 100 units for the use of special navy in Japan and for car sharing presentation assignment in United States.
The name recalls a rival with its iQ term intelligence and the rival is the smart Fortwo. As per Toyota, “I” stand for individualism, intellect and innovation, whereas “Q” stands for cubic shape and quality. It was the best Japanese vehicle of 2008. The length of the car is in compliance with the government of Japan and their dimensions norms for vehicles are classified as Kei car, the engine size, the width which is defined as super mini vehicle.
In fact IQ was purposefully designed and developed at Toyota European design studio in France in nice location.
