The Toyota Tacoma, a pickup truck produced by Toyota, a Japanese automobile firm in the U.S since 1995. A first generation model of Tacoma, years 1995?, was categorized as a compact pickup through 2004. A second generation model of Tacoma was categorized as mid-size. In 2005, this was awarded as Motor Trend Magazine’s Truck.
What specifications a new Toyota Tacoma contains
In the event of Chicago Auto Show held on February 4, 2004, Toyota revealed a larger and more dominant the Toyota Tacoma. This new model came in 18 different types of configurations including 3 cab configurations, 2 engines, 2 bed lengths and 4 transmissions. The 3 cab configurations comprised of access cab, double cab and regular cab. The transmissions were available in 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 5-speed automatic and 5-speed automatic. Two different types of bed lengths were available such as a long bed of 1.8m (6 ft) and short bed of 1.5 m (5 ft).
The Tacoma’s was modified to original 5VZ-FE V6 engine of 3.4 liter from 1GR-FE V6 engine of 4.0 liter. The new V6 came in a number of improvements such as a payload capacity of 748 kg (1,650 lb) and a tow rating of 2,948 kg (6,500 lb). It produced a torque of 176 kW (236 HP) and 361 N-m (266 lb-ft ). As it was lesser but all-new Tacoma, 2TR-FE 4-cylinder of 2.7 liter was less expensive alternative models which offered a rating of 119 kW ( 159 HP) and torque of 244 N-m (180 lb-ft ).
